Home Assistant Integration
WaterP1MeterKit exposes energy, gas and water readings through ESPHome. The optional SmartHomeShop.io integration combines them in product and Energy views.
WaterP1MeterKit Features
- electricity import, export and current power;
- gas readings supplied by the smart meter;
- water use and flow measurements;
- calculated costs, price entities, schedules and leak insights where configured.
Extra Entities Added by the Integration
WaterP1MeterKit combines the complete P1 and smart-water calculation layers. The integration adds 28 product-specific entities before period helpers.
Energy and Grid Entities
| Entity | What it does |
|---|---|
Standby power (CC) |
Shows the lowest grid consumption measured between 02:00 and 05:00, helping identify the home's persistent base load. |
Standby cost per year (CC) |
Converts standby power into an estimated annual cost using the average T1/T2 price. |
Month peak (CC) |
Tracks the highest quarter-hour average demand in the current month. |
Energy cost today (CC) |
Calculates today's imported electricity and gas cost minus the value of returned electricity. |
Energy cost this month (CC) |
Applies the same net-cost calculation to the current month. |
Highest phase load (CC) |
Shows the most heavily loaded phase as a percentage of the configured main fuse. |
Net grid power (CC) |
Import minus export in watts: positive means importing and negative means exporting. |
Available grid power (CC) |
Estimates the remaining power on the most heavily loaded phase before reaching the configured fuse limit. |
Water Usage and Analysis Entities
| Entity | What it does |
|---|---|
Water cost today (CC) |
Multiplies today's water use by the active contract or configured water price. |
Usage vs 7-day average (CC) |
Compares today's use with the learned average day after the baseline is ready. |
Last water session (CC) |
Shows the litres used by the last completed water session; duration and end time are attributes. |
Current water usage (CC) |
Shows or calculates the current water flow in L/min. |
Usage today (CC) |
Water consumed since the start of the day. |
Usage this week (CC) |
Water consumed since the start of the ISO week. |
Usage this month (CC) |
Water consumed since the start of the month. |
Usage this year (CC) |
Water consumed since the start of the year. |
Leak score (CC) |
Combines continuous flow, night use, microflow and learned pattern deviations into a 0-100 risk score. |
Leak detection confidence (CC) |
Shows how much learned history supports the current smart leak result. |
Baseline learning days (CC) |
Shows how many days have been included in the normal-use baseline. |
Continuous flow duration (CC) |
Shows how many minutes water has flowed without stopping. |
Water Status and Leak Triggers
| Entity | Turns on when |
|---|---|
Smart leak detection (CC) |
The combined leak score reaches the configured threshold with sufficient confidence. |
Continuous flow leak (CC) |
Water keeps flowing beyond the configured duration. |
Night usage (CC) |
Unexpected water use occurs during the configured night window. |
Micro leak (CC) |
A small flow continues long enough to resemble a dripping tap or small leak. |
Vacation leak (CC) |
Water flows while the configured vacation-mode entity is on. |
Water flowing (CC) |
The current flow is greater than 0.1 L/min. |
Leak alarm (CC) |
Any smart, continuous, night, micro or vacation leak condition is active. |
Baseline learned (CC) |
The configured minimum learning period has been completed. |
The integration additionally creates 16 to 24 Utility Meter helpers: 8 for imported electricity, up to 8 for returned electricity, 4 for water and 4 for gas. Each group covers daily, weekly, monthly and yearly periods. See the complete WaterP1MeterKit entity reference for units, attributes and detailed calculation rules.
Install the integration, select WaterP1MeterKit and choose the matching ESPHome device. The complete Home Assistant Integration guide covers installation, cards, dynamic prices, energy sources, automations and troubleshooting.
The native ESPHome entities remain available for fully custom dashboards.
