Home Assistant Integration
P1MeterKit exposes its smart-meter readings through ESPHome. The optional SmartHomeShop.io integration adds calculated energy entities, product views and the Energy workspace.
P1MeterKit Features
- electricity import, export and current power overview;
- gas readings where supplied by the smart meter;
- calculated power, energy, utility and cost insights;
- dynamic price sensors, schedules and energy automations when configured.
Extra Entities Added by the Integration
The SmartHomeShop integration adds eight calculated entities to the existing ESPHome device:
| Entity | What it does |
|---|---|
Standby power (CC) |
Shows the lowest grid consumption measured between 02:00 and 05:00, helping identify the home's persistent base load. |
Standby cost per year (CC) |
Converts the measured base load into an estimated annual cost using the average T1/T2 price. |
Month peak (CC) |
Tracks the highest quarter-hour average demand in the current month. |
Energy cost today (CC) |
Calculates today's imported electricity and gas cost minus the value of returned electricity. |
Energy cost this month (CC) |
Applies the same net-cost calculation to the current month. |
Highest phase load (CC) |
Shows the most heavily loaded phase as a percentage of the configured main fuse. |
Net grid power (CC) |
Import minus export in watts: positive means importing and negative means exporting. |
Available grid power (CC) |
Estimates the remaining power on the most heavily loaded phase before reaching the configured fuse limit. |
The integration also creates 8 daily, weekly, monthly and yearly import helpers for T1/T2, up to 8 return helpers and up to 4 gas helpers. See the complete P1MeterKit entity reference for units, calculation details and availability rules.
Install the integration, select P1MeterKit and choose the matching ESPHome device. Follow the complete Home Assistant Integration guide for installation, price connection, source mapping, schedules and battery planning.
The native P1 entities continue to work without the custom integration. See Sensor Definitions for their meaning and units.
