The CeilSense comes with a two-year warranty from the date of purchase. For warranty claims or technical support, please contact our customer service team at support.smarthomeshop.io.

Handcrafted Quality

Every CeilSense is handmade with care by our team:

  • 3D-printed housing: Each enclosure is printed in-house
  • Hand-soldered: All components are manually soldered
  • Hand-flashed & tested: Every unit is individually flashed and tested
  • Hand-folded packaging: Even our product boxes are folded by hand
  • Dual quality control: Each unit passes inspection by two independent team members during assembly and before shipping

Warranty Coverage

What's Covered

  • ✅ Manufacturing defects in the CeilSense hardware
  • ✅ Hardware component failures under normal use
  • ✅ Firmware issues with the official SmartHomeShop firmware
  • ✅ Non-functional units on arrival (DOA)

What's Not Covered

  • ❌ Physical damage from drops or impacts
  • ❌ Water or moisture damage
  • ❌ Damage from improper installation or incorrect power supply
  • ❌ Modified hardware (soldering, component swaps)
  • ❌ Custom firmware or third-party firmware modifications
  • ❌ Software changes that render the device non-functional
  • ❌ Configuration changes that deviate from our documentation
  • ❌ Cosmetic damage (scratches, paint wear)
  • ❌ Normal wear and tear
  • ❌ Yellowing or discoloration of the housing over time

Housing & Finish

The visible front of the CeilSense housing features a matte white spray-coated finish for a clean, modern look that blends with most ceilings.

Care Instructions

  • Handle the front panel with care during installation
  • Avoid scratching or scraping the surface
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents
  • The matte finish is durable under normal use

Replacement Front Panel

If your front panel becomes damaged, you can order a replacement:

⚠️ Warranty Exclusion: Cosmetic damage to the spray-coated finish (scratches, chips, paint wear) caused by handling, installation, or environmental factors is not covered by warranty.

Third-Party Modifications

The CeilSense uses industry-standard components including Hi-Link mmWave radar sensors (LD2412, LD2450) and Sensirion environmental sensors (SCD41).

What's Not Covered

We cannot provide warranty or support for:

  • 🔧 Custom firmware modifications or third-party firmware
  • 🔧 Hardware modifications (soldering, component swaps)
  • 🔧 Software changes that cause the device to malfunction
  • 🔧 Issues caused by third-party software updates to sensor components
  • 🔧 Configuration changes that deviate from our documentation
  • 🔧 Damage from improper installation or power supply issues

Tinkerers welcome! We love that our products are built on open platforms like ESPHome. Feel free to experiment and customize. Just know that once you modify the hardware or flash custom firmware, you're in DIY territory. Our Discord community is a great place to get help from fellow enthusiasts!
