Home Assistant Integration
CeilSense Mini first connects to Home Assistant as an ESPHome device. The optional SmartHomeShop.io integration then adds the Room Designer and a CeilSense card without replacing the native entities.
What the Integration Adds
- Room Designer: draw your room and, with release firmware, your zones;
- CeilSense card: presence and the available readings together in one card.
The presence, target, zone and light entities remain ESPHome entities and are not duplicated. See the CeilSense section of the integration guide.
Room Quality
Room Quality needs climate or air-quality readings. The Mini has no climate sensors, so it has nothing to calculate it from. For Room Quality, see CeilSense V2 with the SCD41 module or CeilSense Pro.
Room Designer per Radar
| Radar configuration | Zones |
|---|---|
| LD2412 + LD2450 | The current firmware has the 3 rectangular zones of the radar: see Calibration. Polygon zones in the Room Designer will follow with release firmware. |
| LD2460 | Follows with the LD2460 build, planned for release |
| LD6002B | Follows with the LD6002B build, planned for release |
The zones of the radar show up in Home Assistant as LD2450 Zone 1 Target Count and so on. You can use them in automations.
Install the Integration
The integration needs CeilSense Mini to be online in Home Assistant through ESPHome first.
- Open HACS in Home Assistant.
- Search for SmartHomeShop.io and download it.
- Restart Home Assistant.
- Go to Settings > Devices & services > Add integration and search for SmartHomeShop.io.
- Select CeilSense and choose the matching ESPHome device.
The integration recognizes devices with ceilsense in the name as CeilSense. Keep that word in the device name if you rename it.
The complete Home Assistant Integration guide covers HACS installation, cards, entities and troubleshooting.
Without the Integration
The integration is optional. All native entities in Sensor Definitions work with standard Home Assistant cards and automations.
