Entities and Services

The integration adds entities in the normal Home Assistant domains, so they can be used in dashboards, templates and automations.

For the exact calculated sensors, binary sensors and Utility Meter helpers created for each device, see Extra entities by product. This page covers the entity groups shared across the integration.

Entity Groups

Group Examples
Product entities Room quality, calculated power, water use, leak state
Price sensors Electricity import price now, market price, feed-in price, gas and water price, T1/T2 prices, price level, average, lowest and highest price today, rank, spread, negative price hours today, next lower price start, cheapest 1h to 6h block start
Contract sensors Contract name, energy provider, contract type, net fixed cost per day and per year
Price binary sensors Cheap electricity now, Energy contract connected, Tomorrow prices available, Cheapest 1h to 6h window now
Schedule binary sensors One per deadline schedule, on while the load should run
Smart savings sensors Smart savings today, this month and total
Battery entities Recommendation, Target power, Target state of charge, Expected plan savings, Planning confidence, Charge recommended, Discharge recommended

Price, contract, schedule, savings and battery entities only exist while Smart Energy is enabled. They appear on the service devices SmartHomeShop Energy Prices and SmartHomeShop Battery Planner, and their names do not end in (CC).

Names and availability depend on configured products and sources. Use Home Assistant's entity registry to assign your own friendly names without changing the integration's unique IDs.

Battery Service

The integration registers:

action: smarthomeshop.apply_battery_recommendation
data: {}

The action exists while Smart Energy is enabled and needs a configured battery planner with a control entity. Without an override, it applies the current planner recommendation. Advanced automations can provide an explicit charge, hold or discharge action where supported. Validate the mapped control entity before calling the service.

Leak Events

When the smart leak detection of a WaterMeterKit or WaterP1MeterKit flips, the integration fires the events smarthomeshop_leak_detected and smarthomeshop_leak_cleared. It also shows a repair issue in Home Assistant until the leak is cleared.

Using Entities Safely

Check unknown and unavailable states in templates. Compare timestamps before combining a live price with a forecast. Use numeric-state conditions with the correct unit and avoid assuming that a missing sensor equals zero.

Diagnostics

The integration provides diagnostics for troubleshooting and redacts stored API keys. Diagnostics can still contain entity names, configuration choices and installation details, so review the downloaded file before sharing it.
