Home Assistant Integration

SmartHomeShop products already expose their native measurements to Home Assistant through ESPHome. The optional SmartHomeShop.io custom integration, available directly from the default HACS store, builds on those devices with a dedicated panel, product cards, calculated entities and an Energy workspace for prices, schedules and battery planning.

Why Use the SmartHomeShop Integration?

The main advantage is that you do not have to build the same dashboards, template sensors and energy logic from scratch. The integration adds a maintained, product-aware layer while preserving the flexibility of Home Assistant.

  • Ready sooner: existing ESPHome entities are presented in dedicated SmartHomeShop product cards and one sidebar panel.
  • More useful insights: calculated entities turn measurements into room-quality scores, cost estimates, price levels, cheapest-hour blocks and battery recommendations.
  • Energy in one place: combine dynamic prices with grid, solar, battery and forecast entities for schedules and battery planning.
  • Still standard Home Assistant: use the original and calculated entities in your own dashboards, scripts and automations without being locked into the SmartHomeShop panel.
  • Local by default: normal measurements and device control stay in Home Assistant; connecting a SmartHomeShop account is optional.
  • Available by default in HACS: search for SmartHomeShop.io and install or update it without adding a custom repository.

Extra Entities by Product

The integration adds different calculated entities and Home Assistant helpers for each product. Their display name normally ends in (CC), making them easy to distinguish from the original ESPHome measurements.

Product What the integration adds
P1MeterKit 15 calculated energy, power, peak, phase and cost sensors, plus period utility meters
WaterP1MeterKit All P1 and smart-water entities, plus energy, gas and water utility meters
WaterMeterKit 12 water-analysis sensors, 8 leak/status binary sensors and 4 utility meters
WaterFlowKit A smart leak alarm and 4 utility meters each for Flow 1 and Flow 2
UltimateSensor v1 3 calculated Room Quality entities
UltimateSensor v2 3 calculated Room Quality entities
UltimateSensor Mini v1 3 calculated Room Quality entities, using the sensors fitted to this version
UltimateSensor Mini v2 3 calculated Room Quality entities, using the sensors fitted to this version
CeilSense 3 calculated Room Quality entities, using the available climate and air-quality sensors

See Extra entities by product for every entity name, calculation and practical use. Account-wide price, schedule and battery entities are documented separately under Entities and services.

What Stays Local?

Device measurements and normal ESPHome control remain inside Home Assistant. Installing the custom integration does not replace ESPHome. Cloud communication is only used when you connect a personal SmartHomeShop API token for account prices and contracts.
