Panel and Dashboard Cards
The SmartHomeShop.io sidebar panel is the configuration and overview surface for supported devices. It complements the standard Home Assistant device pages rather than replacing them.
Panel Pages
The panel has three tabs:
- Dashboard lists your SmartHomeShop devices. A device page has the tabs Overview, Automations and Settings. Under Automations you create ready-made notifications as normal Home Assistant automations.
- Room Designer draws rooms, zones, entry lines and mirrors for supported radar sensors.
- Energy shows live energy, the price outlook, electricity costs, smart savings, the power trend and smart control. Its Settings button opens Connection, Sources, HA Energy, Automations and Battery.
The panel, cards and setup follow the language of your Home Assistant user: English, Dutch, German, French or Spanish. Entity names stay English.
Product Cards
Depending on the product, the panel can provide cards for:
- live energy, gas or water values;
- room climate and an overall room-quality score;
- CO2 and ventilation guidance;
- presence, targets and configured zones;
- device connectivity and diagnostics;
- energy prices, schedules, solar inputs and battery planning.
Use the ready-made cards for a fast overview and the raw ESPHome entities for custom dashboards or automations.
Room Quality
Room-quality features combine the sensors that are actually available. Temperature and humidity describe comfort; CO2 is prioritised as a ventilation indicator. Some hardware can additionally contribute VOC or particulate measurements.
The score is guidance, not a certified indoor-air or medical assessment. Always inspect the underlying value and timestamp when a score changes unexpectedly.
Presence and Zones
Supported mmWave products can show current presence, targets and room zones. Zone configuration depends on the sensor model and firmware. Confirm zone behaviour while someone physically walks through the room before using it for security or safety-related logic.
Add Cards to Your Own Dashboard
The integration adds its cards to the Home Assistant card picker, each with a visual editor:

The energy cards show the data of the Energy tab, so set that up first.
Add Entities to Your Own Dashboard
Every calculated sensor and binary sensor can be added with normal Home Assistant cards. Use stable entity names, include units in custom labels when ambiguity is possible, and avoid displaying a stale forecast as live data.
