Privacy and Troubleshooting
The App needs cloud communication to provide remote access, managed history and email alerts. Choose local firmware with Home Assistant when measurements must remain inside the local network.
Data and Credentials
- Device measurements linked to the App are processed and stored by the SmartHomeShop platform.
- Location details should only be entered when required for organisation or a location-based tool.
- Account passwords, Cloud Device IDs and API tokens must not be shared publicly.
- Home Assistant diagnostics redact stored API keys, but review every diagnostic file before publishing it.
- Remove unused devices and revoke unused tokens.
- Turn on two-factor authentication under Settings > Two-Factor Auth.
Consult the current privacy policy and terms for the legal retention and processing details.
Common Problems
Device is not found
Confirm that it runs cloud firmware, is online and is on the same network as the browser. A new device is listed for 30 minutes after it registers. Disable VPN or client isolation temporarily, then try the Cloud Device ID.
Device is offline in the App
Check power, Wi-Fi or Ethernet, DNS and internet access. A working local ESPHome entity does not prove that cloud synchronisation is available.
Device asks to re-pair
After a full reset or reinstalling the firmware, a device can report cloud: re-pair needed. Open the device, choose Edit and then Re-pair device from the same network as the device, and restart it within 30 minutes.
A form reports a CSRF token mismatch
Refresh the page and submit again. If the session expired, sign in again. Clear only this site's cookies when the error continues; do not keep retrying a stale page.
Solar forecast rate limit reached
Wait for the provider window to reset. Verify that a personal Forecast.Solar API key is configured and leave automatic refresh at the provider interval.
Measurements or prices look wrong
Check the measurement timestamp, units, device calibration and active energy contract. Distinguish confirmed prices from forecast hours.
When Contacting Support
Include the account email, product type, device name, approximate failure time, browser or Home Assistant version and the exact error message. Never include a password or full API token.
