Home Assistant Integration
CeilSense V2 first connects to Home Assistant as an ESPHome device. The optional SmartHomeShop.io integration then adds the Room Designer, a CeilSense card and calculated Room Quality without replacing the native entities.
What the Integration Adds
- Room Designer: draw your room and your zones;
- CeilSense card: presence and the available readings together in one card;
- Room Quality: three calculated entities for the air in the room.
Extra Entities Added by the Integration

Calculates a weighted score from 0 to 10 from the available CO2, temperature and humidity readings. Missing readings are excluded. |
Room Quality Label (CC) |
Converts the score into Excellent, Good, Fair, Moderate, Poor or Unknown. |
Room Quality Percentage (CC) |
Converts the score to 0 to 100% for gauges, thresholds and automations. |
Room Quality needs climate or air-quality readings. On CeilSense V2 they come from the SCD41 module, so without that module there is nothing to calculate it from.
The original presence, target, zone, light and climate entities remain ESPHome entities and are not duplicated. See the complete CeilSense entity reference.
Room Designer per Radar

Your zones show up in Home Assistant as entities you can use in automations.
Install the Integration
The integration needs CeilSense V2 to be online in Home Assistant through ESPHome first.
- Open HACS in Home Assistant.
- Search for SmartHomeShop.io and download it.
- Restart Home Assistant.
- Go to Settings > Devices & services > Add integration and search for SmartHomeShop.io.
- Select CeilSense and choose the matching ESPHome device.
The integration recognizes devices with ceilsense in the name as CeilSense. Keep that word in the device name if you rename it.

Without the Integration
The integration is optional. All native entities in Sensor Definitions work with standard Home Assistant cards and automations.
