LED Ring and Buzzer

CeilSense V2 can give signals back to the room with a ring of 16 RGB LEDs and a piezo buzzer. Both do nothing until you use them.

LED Ring

The ring has 16 individually addressable WS2812-type RGB LEDs that shine down. Home Assistant controls it as one light called LED Ring, with color, brightness and effect.

The ring is off by default and off at every start. It gives no start-up signal, so a dark ring does not mean the device has no power.

The current firmware has no built-in motion light, night light or CO2 warning. You build these yourself with automations, as shown below.

Control the Ring

Open LED Ring on the device page to set the color, brightness and effect by hand. In a script or automation, use light.turn_on and light.turn_off.

Heat

LEDs that burn brightly for a long time give off some heat and can slightly affect temperature readings. Use the ring dimmed or briefly.

Buzzer

The piezo buzzer is silent unless you use it. In the current firmware, Home Assistant has a Buzzer Test button that plays a short four-note melody. You find it under Diagnostic on the device page.

An automation can press the button:
