The WaterFlowKit comes with a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. For warranty claims or technical support, please contact our customer service team at smarthomeshop.io/contact.

Handcrafted Quality

Every WaterFlowKit is handmade with care by our team:

  • 3D-printed housing — Each enclosure is printed in-house
  • Hand-soldered — All components are manually soldered
  • Hand-flashed & tested — Every unit is individually flashed and tested
  • Hand-folded packaging — Even our product boxes are folded by hand
  • Dual quality control — Each unit passes inspection by two independent team members during assembly and before shipping

✅ Non-functional units on arrival (DOA)

What's Not Covered

❌ Physical damage from drops or impacts
❌ Water damage to the main unit
❌ Damage from improper installation
❌ Water leaks caused by improper fitting installation
❌ Modified hardware (soldering, component swaps)
❌ Custom firmware or third-party firmware modifications
❌ Software changes that render the device non-functional
❌ Configuration changes that deviate from our documentation
❌ Sensor cable modifications or extensions
❌ Normal wear and tear

Water Leaks — Important Disclaimer

⚠️ We are not responsible for water leaks or water damage caused by installation.

The WaterFlowKit requires inline installation on water pipes. Proper installation is critical:

  • Always use thread seal tape (PTFE tape) on threaded connections
  • Tighten all fittings securely
  • The temperature sensor fitting may require extra tightening
  • Pressure test all connections before final installation
  • Check connections after 24 hours
  1. Turn off water supply before installation
  2. Apply thread seal tape to all threads
  3. Hand-tighten, then use appropriate wrench
  4. Turn on water supply slowly
  5. Check for leaks under pressure
  6. Re-check after 24 hours

Device Enclosure — Important Notice

The WaterFlowKit main unit has an IP20 rating — suitable for indoor use only.

⚠️ Warranty Exclusion: Water damage to the main unit is not covered by warranty.

Suitable Installation Locations

  • ✅ Dry utility rooms
  • ✅ Under-sink cabinets
  • ✅ Basements (dry areas)
  • ✅ Indoor pipe locations

Locations to Avoid

  • ❌ Outdoor locations
  • ❌ Areas prone to flooding
  • ❌ Near splashing water sources
  • ❌ High humidity environments (>80% RH)

Flow Sensors — Important Notice

The flow sensors have an IP52 rating — protected against dust and light moisture.

Sensor Protection

  • ✅ Occasional splashing is acceptable
  • ✅ Normal indoor moisture is fine
  • ❌ Do not submerge sensors
  • ❌ Avoid direct water spray on sensor electronics

Third-Party Modifications

The WaterFlowKit uses open-source ESPHome firmware, making it fully customizable.

We cannot provide warranty or support for:
